Essence
The Hermit withdraws in order to think clearly, and the withdrawal is an act rather than a retreat. Capricorn earth gives it structure and patience: it builds slowly, prefers the load-bearing to the decorative, and is unembarrassed by how long a thing takes. Its knowing is intuitive rather than analytic, though from the outside it can look like study.
The charge is magnetic. The Hermit does not broadcast; it draws, and people arrive at it. Its natural timing runs in long arcs — fifteen years is not an unreasonable span for this energy to hold one question — which is why its conclusions, when they finally come, tend to hold too.
